A bit about us:

Simon de burgh: Nutrition and Coaching Director

I'm a 2 x award-winning personal trainer, online coach, sports tutor, triathlete, Ironman, lover of all things bike and ice cream.

I've been in the fitness industry for most of my life, from competitive swimming at an early age to racehorse jockey for seven years.

Hanging up my riding boots, I travelled the world for a few years, spending time in Thailand, Australia and New Zealand and re-discovered the joy of great food, surfing, climbing mountains, running, cycling and competing in long-distance events.

Returning home I dived into learning about the human body, nutrition and mind-set for performance, then put it into practice personal training and coaching clients to run marathons, adventure races, 24-hour endurance events and triathlons.

I love a good challenge......

My longest event to date was cycling the 300 miles from Lands End to London with five awesome mates in a ride time of 17 hours and 32 minutes. 

Last year I completed Iron Man Austria with a swim time of 1.02, bike time of 5.45 and run of 4.03. Im really looking forward to improving those times in 2017.

All of these amazing experiences -- my time spent coaching, learning, attending courses, seminars, reading books, listening to podcasts, testing training principles and connecting with coaches far better than me – helps me, to help you, get the best from your body and mindset in the healthiest, most sustainable way possible.

I'm a bit Gordon Ramsay-ish sometimes, apparently, but as I say to all my clients when they start with me:

"The day I don't show passion and excitement towards you, is the day I want you to sack me as your coach".

At school I discovered a natural ability in all ball sports and quickly progressed to play professional rugby, National 2 Level at the age of 17. Unfortunately due to an injury I had hang up my boots early and change direction.

My love of sport ran deep so I ventured off to University of Cardiff to study Strength and Conditioning and Rehabilitation. It’s here I started to coach players at the Bristol RFC along with other very talented age group triathletes for 70.3 races and Ironman.

My biggest achievement to date is completing Ironman Vichy France, I was chuffed to beat my goal of 10 hours by doing it in 9 hrs and 46 mins.
